Description

Scout provides portable detection of nearby cellular activity for security patrols, inspections and routine operations.

Original Scout

Provides continuous monitoring for nearby cellular activity using an integrated omnidirectional antenna. Audible, visual and vibration alerts notify operators when active mobile phone transmissions are detected.

Directional Scout

Adds an external antenna connection and directional antenna capability, allowing operators to investigate detections and narrow down the source of detected cellular transmissions.

Why security teams choose Scout

  • Always with you. Pocket-sized at 6.5 oz, with a belt-attachable holster.
  • Covers every current network. Detects active 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G signals, in cellular FDD and TDD receiving modes.
  • Alerts your way. A 20-level on-screen signal meter, a speaker and a vibration motor, each with on/off control.
  • Detect, then narrow down. Directional Scout adds an external antenna connection to investigate detections and narrow down the source.
  • Lasts the shift. A 6-hour rechargeable battery, or run it from AC power for continuous operation.

Applications

  • Security patrols: continuous monitoring for nearby cellular activity.
  • Inspections: spot checks for active mobile phones.
  • Routine operations: everyday detection as part of standard procedures.

Features

  • Detects active 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G signals
  • Pocket-sized handheld design
  • Audible, visual and vibration alerts
  • Adjustable sensitivity settings
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Available in Original and Directional configurations

FAQs

What is the difference between Original Scout and Directional Scout?

Original Scout uses an integrated omnidirectional antenna for continuous monitoring. Directional Scout adds an external antenna connection and directional antenna capability, so you can narrow down the source of a detection.

How far away can Scout detect a phone?

Up to 165 feet indoors and 330 feet outdoors. Range depends on the strength of the target signal and the physical environment.

Which networks does Scout detect?

Active 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G signals across 600 MHz to 4 GHz.

How long does the battery last?

Around 6 hours, with a 3-hour charge from empty. Scout can also run on AC power for continuous operation.

Can Scout be used silently?

Yes. The speaker and vibration alerts each have on/off control, and the on-screen signal meter shows 20 individual levels.

How is Scout updated?

Software is updated wirelessly using a PC.

Should I choose Scout or Hunter?

Scout is built for everyday patrols and spot checks. For large-area searches, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth detection and pinpointing a signal, take a look at Hunter™.
